The closeness of the institutions to each other, their setting in a beautiful park landscape and communicative places to eat like the Mensa and Café Max, a number of guesthouses, a kindergarten as well as a research library - all of this contributes to a high quality of living and working for the 2,200 employees. The Campus, with its sculpture park, its exhibitions and a small museum, is also a place of artistic creativity, inspiration and synergy between science and art.
In 2001 the Max Delbrück Communications Center opened on the Campus, one of the most modern congress centers in Berlin. It serves as an international meeting place for researchers and physicians as well as an arena for active social discourse. The CampusInfoCenter, located in the same historic building as the Life Science Learning Lab, is popular with visitors and guests of the Campus as a place to meet and obtain information.
The Campus welcomes thousands of visitors annually to the "Long Night of the Sciences“ in June, which gives insight into the biosciences and medicine in an entertaining way through participatory courses, lab tours, "science comedy" and information booths.
The fast connection to Berlin's cultural life and direct proximity to the lakes and forests of the Barnim Nature Reserve make the Campus, as a part of the Health Region Berlin-Buch, one of the most delightful and active locations of the new capital, providing numerous opportunities for leisure and recreation.
