In the field of education and advanced and further training the main focus on the Campus Berlin-Buch is on life sciences and health. The Life Science Learning Lab “Gläsernes Labor”, which functions as a Life Science education center, is equipped with modern laboratories and exhibition rooms. Every year more than 10,000 middle and secondary students, teachers, scientists, technicians and the public attend lab courses and advanced training courses in gene research, cell biology and molecular medicine. The Max Delbrück Center for Molecular Medicine (MDC) Berlin-Buch trains laboratory assistants for biology and animal care takers. The “Akademie der Gesundheit Berlin-Brandenburg”, the largest educational center for physician assistants and nursing staff in Germany, is located in close proximity to the Campus.
Berlin-Buch is an optimal location for young scientists to gain practical experiences. The research institutes offer internships, diploma and Ph.D. thesis work for students. In collaboration with the Charité - University Medicine Berlin, the Buch clinics educate medical specialists.
